Muybridge: Shooting a Moving Target

Muybridge: Shooting a Moving Target : #animation This was quite a feat, given the cumbersome process of photography in those days. (Think glass negatives and chemical baths.) Muybridge had to trick out cameras that could take a number of photos in succession and create a device that could flash them in front of the viewer’s eye. For this, he invented the zoopraxiscope, which you can see in all its steampunk splendor at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington. The exhibit “Helios: Eadweard Muybridge in a Time of Change” runs through Sunday.

Congratulations! You made a film!!

Congratulations! You made a film!!: #animation #film #production You spent many long sleepless nights, didn't eat, sleep, shower and finally get to the big day: The presentation night.
The lights are off, all your family and friends are sitting there waiting to see that film you’ve been working on (which was also your excuse for ignoring them for the past year or so) and then, your film is finally up. And a few minutes later: That’s it. it’s over, and you will probably never see it on the big screen ever again.

Brenda Chapman on Insights For Getting Started In The Animation Industry

Brenda Chapman on Insights For Getting Started In The Animation Industry: #animation start in any industry is difficult, and getting started in the animation industry is no exception. I’ve received great questions from Kendall, Megan, Liz and Jay, all of whom are curious about the journey of getting into animation. Their questions, like those of others aspiring to work in the animation industry, include what you need in a portfolio; what to expect as an artist and a woman; and whether it’s a feasible career path or whether animation coincides with the “starving artist” scenario.

Animation Hotline

Animation Hotline: #Animation #phone #inspiration Hotline is a series of daily animations where I use messages left on my voicemail for content. When you get a chance please leave me a message, and honestly it̢۪s best if you leave more than one because sometimes what you think is the perfect message might simply be impossible for me to animate in one day. This project is only as good as the messages that you leave me, so if you feel so inspired, call!
